Student Affairs Scholarships

Please review the guidelines and descriptions of the awards found below. 

Greg Caiola ’79 Scholarship 

The Greg Caiola ’79 Campus Engagement Award will support one student each year, a Junior or Senior, who demonstrates outstanding engagement and leadership in a recognized student organization at the College. This student shall show dedication to the organization(s) of which he or she is a member, and shall strive to make the campus and the community a better place through his or her active commitment and leadership. Recipients must be nominated by any TCNJ student, faculty, or staff member; must be an active part of a student organization; and must demonstrate outstanding commitment and leadership to the College, the community, and the organization(s) of which they are a member.

Harold W. and Rosa Lee Eickhoff Fund

The purpose of the Harold W. and Rosa Lee Eickhoff Fund shall be to support one or more scholarships annually for a rising junior (minimum 15.75 course units) or rising senior (minimum 23.75 course units) who maintain at least a 2.5 GPA and demonstrate through their actions that they will leave The College a better place for having been here.

Recipients should be enrolled full-time in order to be eligible to receive funds and are eligible to be renewed until graduation if they continue to meet the scholarship’s criteria, remain in good standing with the College, and are continually enrolled as a full-time student.

Dorothy Taylor Haas ’32 Award

Established by Mr. Charles A. Haas, class of 1932, in memory of his wife Dorothy Taylor Haas, class of 1931, this award is presented to a graduating senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA.  The recipient of this award will have demonstrated strong leadership skills, character, great promise for the future, and an extensive commitment to the College through involvement with campus or community events.

William M. Klepper Scholarship

Bill Klepper served Trenton State College/The College of New Jersey from 1971 to 1997, initially as Director of Housing and ultimately as Vice President for Student Life. The scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student with a minimum 3.0 GPA who is involved in campus programs, demonstrates academic achievement, and is active in at least one student organization, preferably in a leadership position.

Recipients should be enrolled full-time in order to be eligible to receive funds and are eligible to be renewed until graduation if they continue to meet the scholarship’s criteria, remain in good standing with the College, and are continually enrolled as a full-time student.
Apply by April 19, 2024 at midnight to be considered.

Theresa (“Terri”) M. Martinac ’72, ’73 Endowed Scholarship in Leadership

This scholarship was established by Theresa (“Terri”) M. Martinac ’72, ’73, who was an active student leader. As an alumna, Terri served in multiple volunteer roles including a member of the Board of the Alumni Association, a member of the TCNJ Foundation Board, and Chair of the Development Committee for The Campaign for TCNJ. 

This scholarship will support full-time students at the college, during their junior or senior year, who demonstrate leadership initiative and skills within a student organization, sports team, or role within the classroom. Rising sophomores and juniors should apply to receive this award for the next academic year. Provided that a past recipient is a junior, remains enrolled full-time, and in good academic standing, s/he will be eligible to be renewed for up to one additional year.

John Wandishin ‘79 Scholarship

Established in 1994 by John Wandishin, class of 1979 and a former Student Government Association president and student trustee, this scholarship award is presented to help a rising sophomore, rising junior, or rising senior  (minimum 7.75 course units) who has the potential to make positive contributions to the TCNJ community.  This student may not necessarily receive great public attention, but exemplifies honor, courage, leadership, scholarship, and service in their efforts to use available resources to further the TCNJ community. This scholarship fulfills Mr. Wandishin’s campaign promise to return to the students the stipend he received as the Student Government Association president.

Wade Watkins ’84 Scholarship

Established by the TCNJ Alumni Association, this scholarship award is presented in memory and honor of 1984 alumnus Wade Watkins. The successful applicant will be a full time undergraduate student that plays an active role in campus programs, and has made positive contributions to the TCNJ community. Although this student may not necessarily receive great public attention for their efforts, he/she must exhibit the qualities of leadership, scholarship, and service; while having fun in the process.

Recipients should be enrolled full-time in order to be eligible to receive funds and are eligible to be renewed until graduation if they continue to meet the scholarship’s criteria, remain in good standing with the College, and are continually enrolled as a full-time student.

LGBTQ Leadership Scholarship Endowment Fund

This award is to provide scholarship(s) for a student(s) enrolled full-time at TCNJ in good academic standing, in recognition of their leadership within the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) communities. Recipient(s) will be a full-time sophomore, junior or senior in good academic standing who has demonstrated through their actions that they will support and advocate for the LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer) community on the TCNJ campus. Preference will be given to students demonstrating financial need.(This award is not automatically renewable and previous recipients will need to re-apply each year.)
